IYF Volunteer Onboarding

Virtual interactive e-learning course to provide volunteers with the mission, values, and programs of International Youth Fellowship (IYF).

🔍 The Challenge

IYF brings together volunteers from diverse backgrounds to contribute to its global mission of fostering leadership, cultural exchange, and personal growth. However, many new volunteers join without a clear understanding of IYF’s core values, global initiatives, or how they can get involved. The goal was to design an engaging, interactive onboarding course that introduces IYF’s mission, highlights its key programs, and helps volunteers discover the right opportunities for them.

🧠 The Process

  1. Content Intake & Analysis
    • Reviewed IYF’s core mission, values, and global programs
    • Identified key knowledge areas essential for new volunteers
    • Mapped out the learner journey to ensure clarity and engagement
  2. Design & Development
    • Created an interactive e-learning module using Articulate Rise 360
    • Integrated multimedia elements (videos, images, interactive prompts)
    • Developed scenario-based activities and self-reflection prompts
    • Incorporated quizzes throughout to assess understanding
  3. Organization & Delivery
    • Structured the course into digestible sections, covering IYF’s mission, values, and program highlights
    • Enabled self-paced access so volunteers could complete it on their own time
    • Provided completion certificates as recognition of onboarding
